§ 167 (2) SGB IX

Workplace reintegration management (BEM)

If an employee has been unfit for work for more than six weeks within a year, whether continuously or in total, the employer must offer workplace reintegration management. A guided procedure with a medical recommendation on workload and a graded plan often shortens the absence and shows that the employer made the offer. We also provide this support as a Flat fee per case.

Scope of service

When it applies

The obligation arises after more than six weeks of incapacity for work within a year, whether continuous or in total.

Medical recommendation on work capacity

We describe which activities are possible again, to what extent and with which adjustments.

Phased return plan

Working hours are increased step by step, coordinated with the treating doctors and the funding bodies.

Documentation

We document the procedure in full; in unfair dismissal proceedings, a missing reintegration procedure is regularly a disadvantage for the employer.

How it works

01

Invitation

The employer issues the invitation; participation is voluntary. We handle the organisation.

02

Meeting

In the meeting we clarify strain, limitations and options at the workplace.

03

Phased return plan

The medical recommendation is coordinated with the health insurer or pension insurer.

04

Support

Reviews and adjustments follow until full work is possible again.
